Welcome to the Mary M. Knight Character Strong page. This year, Mary M. Knight has adopted and began implementing Character Strong, Social-Emotional Learning curriculum for grades PK - 6th in the 2022-23 school year and continues to use it. As part of our mission and purpose to ensure that all students have the knowledge, skills, motivation, and confidence to be successful citizens, we are ensuring that we provide research-based instruction and best practices in the area of social-emotional learning. As a whole child, we believe in ensuring our kids have the knowledge and skills in the entire child's academic, behavioral, and social-emotional regions.

Our lessons will focus on fostering the whole child in the following areas:

• SEL Competencies: Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, Responsible Decision-Making.

• Character Development: Patience, Kindness, Honesty, Respect, Selflessness, Forgiveness, Commitment, Humility.
