We are thrilled to announce that our Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) kicked off this week! This initiative, supported by the USDA, aims to promote healthy snacking habits among our elementary students and introduce them to a variety of fresh produce. On Tuesday, our elementary students enjoyed trying kiwis for the first time. Did you know that kiwi skins are edible? They add a bit of extra fiber and nutrients, so if your child enjoyed them, feel free to encourage tasting the skin next time! On Thursday, our elementary students explored the unique flavors of baby bok choy. This leafy green is not only delicious but also packed with vitamins and minerals. We encourage you to discuss these fruits and vegetables with your children at home and continue fostering their curiosity about healthy eating. Spirit week is in full swing as students dress up, such as on pajamas day. The secondary hallways are getting decorated with the theme of video games. MMK spirit is all around.

The gym is coming together for Saturday's Harvest Dinner and Auction. Come support the MMK boosters and MMK OWLS. Dinner starts at 5:00 PM and the auction starts at 6:30 PM. Turkey and ham dinner is 10 dollars a plate.

Cancelled: The high school football game against Easton Junior/High School for tomorrow, Saturday September 28th has been cancelled. The Harvest Dinner will still be held at 5:00PM. So drop in for some dinner and auction items!

Dear Mary M. Knight Families, This afternoon (9/26/24), one of our bus drivers reported that students mentioned a fellow MMK student had made threatening comments on the bus, suggesting there would be a school shooting at Mary M. Knight. Upon receiving this report, we immediately contacted the student's family and met with both the family and the student this evening. Based on our interview and discussion with them, we do not believe this to be a credible threat. To provide more context, there was a classroom discussion earlier about school safety, including emergency procedures for fire drills and steps to take during an "active shooter" drill. It seems the conversation from the classroom continued onto the bus ride home. We take the safety and security of our students with the utmost seriousness. We understand there has been significant activity on social media regarding this concern, and we want to inform you of the results of our preliminary investigation.
